The initiative aims at conserving and protecting the environment. The name of the project, Taasa Obutonde, can be translated from Luganda to English to mean "save the creation."

PROBLEM ADDRESSED

Currently, people focus more on their needs, neglecting those of the environment. For example, Ugandans are more interested in the economic development and industrialization but forget the negative effects on the environment. Mother Earth is crying because of the unfair treatment of the fauna and the flora for selfish interests yet nothing is done in compensation and restoration. There is poor disposal of wastes from industries as well as their plastic productions and deforestation of land as well as wood fuel, yet little is done to replace the damage. We want to create a better system to address these issues.

LONG-TERM PLAN

Over time with our project, we hope to carryout extensive advertisement and involvement using various media platforms including this website, social media pages, and radio talks.
We also hope to foster various environmental discussions and listen to opinions from a variety of stakeholders in order to face the problem at hand in Uganda and the globe and creatively find solutions.
Lastly, we hope to use various non-degradable material such as plastics and old rags to create useful items through recycling such as flower pots and other artistic items, ultimately through which funds can be generated after sale.
